Toxic Monks

Created by Jacek Ludwig Scarso
In coproduction with Elastic Theatre
Performed by The Old Telephone Exchange
With Adam Abo Henriksen, Charles Green, Steve Graney, Daniel Pargeter

Commissioned by InTRANSIT

The idea of Toxic Monks came from a live solo, which Jacek originally created for MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome Following a collaboration with The Old Telephone Exchange barbershop quartet as part of Royal Opera House’s Fused festival last summer, Jacek has developed the piece into a durational live installation, specifically conceived for exhibition spaces. Dressed as monks, the performers engage in absurd tableaux, exploring ideas of masculinity, the sacred and the mundane, and the concept of live exhibit. Originally launched as part of At Boiling Point, Londo, the piece was commissioned by InTRANSIT Festival 2015 (Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea).
