Vocal Motions Singers

The Vocal Motions Singers are a freelance vocal ensemble dedicated to the exploration of voice across a wide range of musical styles and with particular emphasis on a cappella and improvisational work. According to this intent, the singers, who vary from project to project, come from highly diverse musical backgrounds, each enhancing our eclectic sound with their own individual brush-strokes.

The Singers have received regular bookings across Europe and have featured as Chorus in Elastic Theatre’s Medea Made Medea and The Magdalene Mysteries, in which their performance was described as “awe-inspiring” and “almighty” in recent reviews on Music OMH and Time Out.

The Vocal Motions Singers are currently collaborating with composer Daniel Biro on his new work SHIR HADASH as well as with choreographer Jane Turner, in her art-science-technology research project Herd . To date, the group has performed in the UK, Poland, France, Italy and Portugal, and also featured in the Bicentenary Ceremony of the End of Slave Trade at Bloomsbury Central Church (Covent Garden, London) and, at the same venue, in a site-specific concert entitled Angels and other Stratospheric Themes. Recent and current concerts have been collaborations with Daniel Biro and Sargasso Label, presented at Kings Place, London.
